On Tuesday June 28, our daughter Jennifer and her two small children were visiting us from their home in Annapolis, MD. Going for an errand, she backed our 2004 Freestar out of the drive and into the street. Immediately the car stopped and she could go no further. Panic! What happened and what do we do??
I immediately telephoned your service manager Tony and explained the situation. We needed a car big enough for two car seats and we needed it ASAP. In all the years we have had Fords from your dealership, we have had excellent and compassionate service and I knew that whatever had to be fixed would be done as soon as possible.
Immobile and in the middle of the street, I knew the Freestar had to be towed to your shop. As Tony and I were talking, he indicated that he was asking two of his men to bring a car over to Ames for our use. I called my wife at home and explained that a car and tow truck would soon be there. She replied that a tow truck was already loading our car, and within minutes the loaner car was in our driveway. What speedy service. Incidentally, my daughter has two Mercedes and could not believe the turn around time for repairs - she said it could be up to a week for minor repairs and/or service through her dealership in Annapolis.
It turns out that the power steering cooler line broke and needed replaced. The line was ordered, received and installed the next morning. We picked up my car Wednesday noon ready to go.
The purpose of this letter is two-fold - first, to let you know how pleased we have been with your dealership and personnel. Countless times we have expressed this satisfaction to friends and others who have been in the market for new autos.
Second, to commend Tony for his dedication to his customers. He could have treated us like other dealerships or service departments might have, but he took care of us.
